Fees

We are a mixed-billing practice and our fee schedule is as per below. Our fee policy ensures that the out of pocket expense is similar regardless of the time for the consultation.

*From 1st April 2018 the below billing policy applies to all our patients. Please note this is to provide consistency across the new patients and current patients.

Appointment Type Standard Fee Discount Fee Medicare Rebate
Standard Consultation $75.00 $65.00 $37.60
Long Consultation $110.00 $100.00 $72.80
Prolonged Consultation $145.00 $135.00 $107.15

We bulk bill the following:

• Children 15 years of age or under with a valid Medicare card (except visitors)
• Pension Card Holders 65 years or over (except visitors)
• DVA card holders We have a discount fee for the Health Care card holders.

Visitors to the Gold Coast will need to pay full price at the time of their consult. Unfortunately, our software does not allow us to process the Medicare rebate for children 15 or under who are from interstate – a receipt will be provided at the time of payment and the rebate will need to be claimed directly from Medicare.

**Bulk billing eligibility provided by Broadbeach Medical Centre may not extend to additional tests such as radiology, pathology etc. To find out the costs of any referral from your GP, you should liaise directly with the referring partner.

If you have any questions about our billing policy, please contact our friendly reception team on 07 5531 6344 Patients with a valid Medicare card are entitled to the rebate as outlined above. This can be claimed in real time at the practice after your consultation.

If you do not have a Medicare Card, the chances are you are not an Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident. Dependent on what country you are from, you may be eligible to apply for a Medicare card. You will need to contact Medicare directly, as we are not a branch, but an independent practice. You may also be able to claim through your health insurance provider, it depends on the cover you have. Again, you will need to speak with your insurance provider directly.

We understand that time is a valuable asset. Therefore, we try our best to stay on time, however, sometimes due to emergencies this is not possible. Our reception staff will do their best to inform you to keep you updated should a doctor be running late. In return we ask that you help us stay on time by understanding the difference between a standard consultation and a long consultation. At your time of booking, please notify reception if you require a longer appointment if your case / visit is more complex.

Procedures and wound treatment will incur an extra cost.
